Nevada Public Library
Board of Trustees
The Nevada Public Library is governed by our Board of Trustees, who are nominated by the Mayor of Nevada and confirmed by the City Council members.
These nine civic leaders are drawn from across our community and serve as volunteers.
Overview
This Board was established in November of 1979 by Ordinance Number 3237, under Article V, Section 5.1 of the City of Nevada Charter.
Goals & Duties
The Board is responsible for making and adopting by-laws, rules, and regulations for their own guidance and for the government of the library as outlined in 182.140 - 182.301 RSMo; appointing a properly qualified librarian; controlling all library funds; and maintaining all library properties.
The Board is made up of nine members. It shall consist of seven members who must reside within the city limits of Nevada and two from the Nevada/Vernon County area.
The members may serve up to three 3-year terms.

The NPL Board of Trustees
meets on the
4th Thursday of each month
at 5:15 p.m.
in NPL's conference room.
15 minutes is designated for public comment at every meeting.
